Education in the Square....Taleban and Velazquez

Image
Grizzly old fart was probably complaining about the protest! Nice looking crowd......but where were my students.......................in fact it was a bit of a washout altogether....there should have been hundreds of thousands of students with their parents and friends.....instead .....................there was what seemd a noisy thousand or so activists.....shame. While they roamed the streets looking for a government/peer group/public/dog to bark a response I went to take a look at the £12.00 a shot Velazquez show at the National Gallery. He was a genius at 19 with some pretty impressive work.........I guess he stayed a genius for a while longer...perhaps until he snuffed it.........perhaps not..........there are too many Art Historians careers on the line for that not to be the case. There was one painting with a number of very pointy El Greco noses in it .......................did they go to the El Pointy Nose club together? There was a piece in the Observer today about the Taleb...

The fox came visiting.........again

Image
Good looking fox this one.................unlike the one that visited earlier in the year.....just a bag of bones that one....................this little fellow looks like it's had all the the KFC left overs across the whole of Peckham....................plus the throw away organic rare breads that are noshed on the East Dulwich side of the track.

Felicity underneath The National Gallery

Image
Felicity singing her heart out under the entrance to The National Gallery. her heart is about to burst It says Felicity so that's what i'll call her...............The tools of the trade....water....player...jacket to catch the coins and...........................that sign with the name...........................maybe all opera buskers are called Felicity! Her heart didn't break............she held it together and made us all cry..........what a star.....................and all just for two quid.

Went with students to take a look at the nominees for the Turner Prize 2006. There were a couple of nice ideas..........but all very slight..............even a magician would have difficulty producing a rabbit.
