Entrance and stairwell Unilever Building




This appears to be about the only bit of the Art Deco interior that has been left intact.
The building has undergone a major refurbishment. The beautiful Art Deco Details have been obliterated and in their place we have a glass and metal interior with a "feature" hanging "installation" in the atrium. This must have been a listed building................who fucked who to get permission to destroy the interior and did this to it (bellow)?

Will we visit this interior in a hundred years time.........doubt it. Not a classic.

Lights along the front. The procession emerges out of the the dark having wound it's way down the hill at the back of the "village" Local Lads out on the town. The Fire works begin. Hanging around and fidgeting. The local Press get ready for St Anne to arrive. It's said that she is the Patron Saint of Sailors/Sea. The boys is red and blue seemed to be in control of the youngsters as the procession continued down to the beach after the fire works. St Anne appeared out of the dark. Devotees. St Anne looking resplendent carried by the men in black. The figure is carried into the church.
