Peckham Rye Cafe and a Mid winter garden

The 'new' cafe on Peckham Rye has been open since the 12th of November. Made a visit on the way to the Upland Road Cafe for a bacon sarnnie ( Best Bacon Sarnie ever)........because it looked pretty good.

The place was stuffed with diners and the counter top with Almond and Plain croissants plus cakes that offered a very tasty death.

The people serving were sweet... despite being rushed off their feet.

The menu looked extensive but not cheap. We had some scrambled egg on toast.......fantastic, delicious bread, almost the size of a plate...........the problem was that the amount of egg there was looked and tasted lost in comparison.

Nice place to have a nosh.

I walked past the cafe later in the day and it was apparent that the cafe was a favourite with people with prams...............it was packed and the outdoor seating, although it was getting cold, was pretty full as well. It seems that East Dulwich, the baby capitol of the world, has taken kindly to the place, it's proximity to the toddlers playing area and the very lovely Rye Gardens

The Olive tree still seems to grow in the middle of winter.......
perhaps the horticulturists could develop a UK version that
will give us the olives to make some oil!
