Great first opera. It was often visually stunning. More
singing would not go amiss. Monkey himself was almost
excellent but his character was not particularly endearing.
Rather than being the "Cheeky Chappy" he came across
as an irritating beast who scratched his balls one time
too many.

The music and singing were, I guess, good. With nothing
else to judge them by....................pretty good.

The gymnastics were mind boggling. If for nothing else,
going to the opera to see stunning acrobats/martial artists
would be novel in itself...and worth every pound.
