"Matisse Made some Great Patterns for Duvet Covers-2" 13 April 2014
Blockbuster Exhibition "Matisse made some Great Patterns for Duvet Covers" at Tate Modern. Have a look at the merchandise once you are through the exhibition. Cushion covers that are supposedly inspired by the Frenchman's cut outs that actually look like they were inspired by the Bauhaus fabric department. Do also have a look at some ceramics that are on offer...again...allegedly inspired by the great mans scissor techniques........erm.....!!!!! Finally take a peek at cufflinks..........charmed into existence by the patterns and colours of the man who took seventeen years to perfect the art of cutting paper shapes...and most often organic...flowing...autistic art nouveau forms.....erm.....these are stripes.
The show itself..............well............moments and hints of intense beauty amongst the mountains of pillowcases and duvet covers.
erm...I forgot to add..."Mad Men" ripped off the Matisse "falling figure" for their intro graphics sequence.
