Nunhead Cemi has an open day each year. It seems to be quite a "mad" English afair. Had the weather been a bit better it would have been very jolly....................it was though, despite the weather, full of local folk........doing tours of some ot the grand restored Victorian graves. A good number of people though looked as if they had taken advantage of the open day to climb out their coffins and join the curious live!

Lights along the front. The procession emerges out of the the dark having wound it's way down the hill at the back of the "village" Local Lads out on the town. The Fire works begin. Hanging around and fidgeting. The local Press get ready for St Anne to arrive. It's said that she is the Patron Saint of Sailors/Sea. The boys is red and blue seemed to be in control of the youngsters as the procession continued down to the beach after the fire works. St Anne appeared out of the dark. Devotees. St Anne looking resplendent carried by the men in black. The figure is carried into the church.
